Corbett Prep Participates in Student/Faculty Sports Challenge
The event was the 10th annual challenge.
Visitors from as far as Brazil and China came to Corbett Preparatory School of IDS earlier this month for a student/faculty sports challenge at the school, 12015 Orange Grove Drive in Tampa.
Students from PreK3 through 8th grade participated in the event held at Gatlin Hall, the gym at the school that buses South Tampa students, said Communications Coordinator Karen Vaughan. The event was hosted by the Corbett Prep Booster Club.
Coach Rob Heller described the 10th annual challenge as the “epitome of the supportive relationships among the teachers, students, and parents from PreK3- eighth grade.”

The Corbett Preparatory of IDS tradition of competition between students and faculty included eighth grade volleyball and basketball games, early primary Olympiad games, all-school dance and cheer performances, hula hoop and basketball shot contests, and a delicious dinner prepared by the school’s chef.
“The challenge reinforces taking risks and becoming a pioneer,” says Coach Adam Chumbley. “This event started with one student’s idea, and it has now blossomed into a great evening that involves the entire school, creating a culture and environment that supports and promotes the fun of exercise through games and sports in a family environment.”
