St. Pete Woman Killed In I-275 Crash Trying To Avoid Hitting Dog

A 70-year-old St. Pete Beach woman died Monday after she hit her brakes to avoid a dog and a semi truck crashed into the rear of her car.

TAMPA, FL - A 70-year-old St. Pete Beach woman died Monday after she hit her brakes to avoid a dog and a semi truck crashed into the rear of her Toyoto Echo on Interstate 275 northbound, north of Fowler Avenue, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The woman was identified as Mary Carnes Norloff, 70, of St. Pete Beach.

After hitting the Toyoto Echo, the semi truck, pulling an empty car-hauler trailer and driven by Kenya Williams, 43, of Sanford, collided with a Nissan Titan driven by Diego Perez, 54, of Lutz. Williams and Perez were not injured in the collision. Charges are pending, FHP said.
