Thunderstorms are expected to make daily appearances in the Tampa Bay area over the week ahead.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents and visitors hoping for a little sunshine may have to catch it between storms and overcast skies over the week ahead. According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms should make daily appearances in much of the region throughout the workweek.
Monday is expected to kick things off with a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. The mostly cloudy conditions many folks woke up to are also expected to persist in much of the region. Despite the overcast skies, forecasters say the day’s high should climb into the upper 80s. Storm chances remain heading into the overnight hours when the low should drop into the lower 70s.

Tuesday is expected to bring mostly cloudy skies with increasing storm chances heading into the afternoon hours. Forecasters expect the day’s high to reach the mid-80s. Rain chances remain in the overnight hours when the low should drop into the mid-70s.
Wednesday may shake up the afternoon storm pattern a bit. Forecasters say there’s a 60 percent chance of storms in the daytime hours with some storms likely to arrive in the morning hours. The day’s high is forecast to reach the upper 80s. Rain chances once again stick around into the nighttime hours when the low should drop into the mid-70s.

Thursday and Friday are both expected to see strong storm chances in the daytime hours. The high both days is forecast to hit the upper 80s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible both nights when lows should fall into the mid-70s.
While forecasters don’t expect organized severe weather over the week ahead, they are warning that numerous thunderstorms could kick up strong gusty winds. Locally heavy rain and frequent lightning are also concerns.
As of Monday, forecasters expected daily thunderstorms to continue through the weekend. Temperatures may rise to the near- or low-90s on Saturday and Sunday both.
