Tampa's The Dan Restaurant Taking Reservations For May 20 Grand Opening

A variety of raw oysters, steaks and local seafood will be featured with New Orleans accents to be found throughout.

TAMPA, FL — The Dan, a new restaurant in downtown Tampa, is making its debut with a grand opening on Saturday, May 20.

Reservations will open to the restaurant the week leading up to the opening date, so guests can reserve their spot to be among the first to experience the newly renovated space.

The Dan menu is described as “Gulf coastal with soul," highlighting both local ingredients and classic dishes. A variety of raw oysters, steaks and local seafood will be featured with New Orleans accents to be found throughout.

The Dan’s cuisine will be brought to life by Executive Chef Will Artley. Artley comes from Washington, D.C. During his time in the D.C. area, Artley helped several restaurants win coveted RAMMY nominations, was a finalist for the “Rising Star Chef” RAMMY Award, and a winner of the “Neighborhood Gathering Place” RAMMY Award. Previously, Artley was named Best Chef in Northern Virginia.

Invitations for Artley’s distinctive cooking style and creative techniques have been extended from such distinguished places such as the White House, the James Beard House in New York City and as a participant in the Food Network’s Christmas episode of "Chopped."

Artley has been featured in several distinguished publications including Eater DC, The Washington Post, Men’s Journal, Tasting Table, Washingtonian Magazine and Washington Business Journal.

Along with an executive chef-curated menu, The Dan will highlight a historically inspired cocktail selection including specialty drinks like Champagne Cocktail, So We Beat On and Bourbon Street Blues. Settled in downtown Tampa at the historic Floridan Palace Hotel, 905 N Florida Ave. with the entrance on Cass Street. The Dan combines the heritage of New Orleans with a heavy influence from the Roaring Twenties, and inspiration from the new generation of Gulf Coast dining. The complete menu will be released later this week.

The Dan will serve dinner seven days a week, weekday lunch and weekend brunch.
