Dense Fog Warning in Tampa Bay’s Weekend Forecast
Find out what's in store in the weather department for the Tampa Bay area and surrounding counties this weekend.
TAMPA, FL — Be sure to keep those T-shirts and shorts handy. A bright, sunny weekend with comfortable temperatures is on tap for the Tampa Bay area. Forecasters at the National Weather Service, however, warn that the forecast isn’t entirely perfect for the days ahead.
The weather service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook report for counties throughout the region, including Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, Sarasota, Manatee and Pinellas. The big warning for the days ahead involves the potential for fog to develop in the overnight hours over the weekend and throughout much of next week. Although expected to burn off with the sun each day, the fog could reduce visibility in some areas to less than a mile. Motorists are urged to take care if they’re on the roads in the late-night and early morning hours.
Fog warnings aside, the weather service says the region is in for a nice weekend. Friday is anticipated to kick things off with a high around 75 degrees in much of the area and sunny conditions. Mostly clear skies are expected in the early evening hours with an overnight low in the upper 50s likely.

Saturday is expected to deliver mostly sunny conditions and a high in the upper 70s to low 80s in much of the Tampa Bay area. The overnight low will be a little warmer, in the upper 60s. Partly cloudy skies are likely, the weather service says.
Sunday is anticipated to be the warmest day of the weekend. The high should climb into the low 80s in much of the region with mostly sunny skies. Clouds are expected to move in during the overnight hours, but rain isn’t a strong possibility. The overnight low is forecast to only fall into the upper 60s.

Rain is not a strong possibility in the region over the weekend, but Monday could change that. Forecasters say there’s a slight chance for showers during the daytime hours and a 50 percent chance overnight. Showers are also a strong possibility in the daytime on Tuesday.
