1. Inflation in Tampa is almost 3% higher than the national average. The biggest driver of the price increases, like the rest of the nation, was the cost of fuel, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Dairy products lead the way in food prices increasing locally. (WFLA)
2. Dress for Success Tampa Bay and CareerSource Tampa Bay are celebrating the second anniversary of a clothing boutique in a three-day event from Monday, June 13, to Wednesday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Each client at the boutique is provided with a complete interview outfit, including shoes, accessories, a purse, and a week's worth of additional clothing once they have secured employment. 3. Tampa non-profit Mujeres Restauradas por Dios, or Women Restored by God, is in need of a new location after a rent hike has threatened to displace them. The non-profit was established in 2014 to help poor families in the Tampa Bay area and have delivered more than 1.5 million pounds of food in the last year and a half to families during the pandemic. 4. Hillsborough County deputies are searching for the man they said opened fire outside of the Brandon Mall Friday afternoon, prompting an active shooter scare. Quran Deandre Johnson, 19, has been identified by police as the man who fired shots before fleeing the scene. The victim is expected to survive. (WFLA)
5. Tampa Theatre's "Pee-Wee's Beer Adventure" is happening Saturday, July 30 and tickets go on sale Monday, June 13 and start at $55. The event will feature samples from local breweries and restaurants including Coppertail Brewing Co., Motorworks Brewing, Shuffle, New World Brewery and more.
