Detectives Searching For Tampa Bank Robbery Suspect

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help to identify and locate a man caught on video stealing money from a local credit union.

On Wednesday around 8:30 a.m., deputies said a Black male suspect entered the Suncoast Credit Union, located at 8201 W Waters Avenue in Tampa, jumped over the counter and then demanded money from the bank tellers.

Deputies said the suspect made threats to shoot bank employees, however, no gun was seen. He left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Nobody was injured.

Detectives said they are searching for a black male suspect, about 5'10"-6' tall, with a thin build. The suspect is in his mid to late 20's. He was last seen wearing white Nike Air sneakers, with a purple and blue design, gray pants, a Space Jam black t-shirt, a green cam zip-up jacket, a gray neck gator, a pink cloth on his head, and clear plastic gloves.

"Not only did this criminal take off with money that was not his to have, but he also stole employees' and customers' peace of mind in a place of business," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Detectives are working diligently to identify him and I ask anyone who may recognize the suspect to please come forward."
