TAMPA, FL — A dog died and a family of four was displaced after a Wednesday night house fire, Tampa Fire Rescue wrote in a social media post.

Firefighters responded to reports of heavy smoke and flames at a single-story home in the 4800 block of W. Euclid Avenue around 7 p.m.

They went inside the home, but were forced to leave it because of combustibles exploding in the cartport and focused on a more defensive strategy, TFR said.
