Skies will likely clear heading into the evening hours Monday when the low is expected to drop into the upper 70s. Forecasters, however, say storm chances move back into the picture early Tuesday morning. There’s about a 30 percent chance for storms between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Partly sunny skies and a high in the low 90s are expected once Tuesday’s storms clear out. The heat index value is once again forecast to top the 100-degree mark in the afternoon hours. A partly cloudy night with a low near 80 is forecast for much of the region.

Wednesday should bring sunny skies and a high in the low 90s, but there’s a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms as the day progresses. Overnight lows should fall into the upper 70s in much of the region with rain chances dropping to about 20 percent in the evening hours.

Thursday could be a wet one with a 50 percent chance of scattered storms forecast for the daytime hours with a high in the low 90s expected. When storm clouds aren’t present, weather service forecasters say partly sunny conditions are likely. Rain chances drop in the overnight hours when the low should fall into the upper 70s yet again. Friday is expected to shape up with similar conditions.

While organized, severe weather isn’t anticipated in the next few days, forecasters warn that “any storms will be capable of gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lighting,” according to Monday’s Hazardous Weather Outlook report.
