East Tampa Youth Host March to Stop Violence
The march is scheduled for Saturday, July 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From Tampa Police:
A Unity March will be held Saturday, July 30, leading to a day of family friendly activities.
Youth in the East Tampa community came up with the idea of a Unity March event and field day to send a message of violence prevention and to promote building strong families, safe schools and healthy neighborhoods. The Unity March is expected to include participants from the East Tampa community as well as the Tampa Police Department, Tampa Fire Rescue, the City of Tampa and community stakeholders.

The East Tampa Youth Leadership Council and the event are made possible by the East Tampa Neighborhood Zone Grant Project via Safe & Sound Hillsborough, a collaborative devoted to violence prevention. Safe & Sound Hillsborough, established in 2013, includes the mayors and police departments of Tampa, Plant City and Temple Terrace, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the School Board of Hillsborough County, the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, the State Attorney's Office, the Public Defender's Office, Hillsborough County government, the Children's Board of Hillsborough County, the health department, the University of South Florida and numerous agencies and faith-based organizations that do vital work in our community.
