Fatal Shooting Of Man In Tampa Leads To Quick Arrest

TAMPA, FL — A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting Saturday in the 7800 block of North Nebraska Avenue.

Tampa police were called to a shooting on Saturday at 5:51 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Witnesses told detectives that Khanji Fairley and the victim were involved in a verbal fight that turned physical, ending when Fairley shot the victim, police said.

Fairley, who fled the scene before police arrived, was quickly taken into custody.
