Fentanyl, Stolen Gun, 4-Month-Old Infant Found In Car Of 6-Time Felon
Ricardo Guyton Jr. was released from jail on $147,500 bail.
TAMPA, FL — A six-time convicted felon is facing more jail time after Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives pulled over his car and discovered a 4-month-old infant, enough fentanyl to kill 7,000 people and a stolen gun inside.
Detectives arrested Ricardo Guyton Jr. and charged him with armed trafficking in fentanyl, felon in possession of a firearm and child neglect. The sheriff's office expects to file other charges against Guyton.
The arrest was made after Opioid Overdose Investigations detectives conducted a two-week investigation into Guyton's activities. While deputies anticipated finding a large amount of fentanyl and possibly a gun in the car, the presence of the infant was a surprise. The baby was released to a family member.

Detectives found 14 grams of fentanyl and a loaded Glock pistol that had been reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Temple Terrace in 2021.
"Fentanyl is one of the deadliest drugs on the market, and those who choose to distribute it will be held accountable," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "The fact that a convicted felon like Guyton had access to a loaded firearm while trafficking fentanyl is extremely alarming. We will continue to work to protect our communities from the dangers posed by fentanyl and other illegal drugs."
