Florida Hate Groups: Map Shows Active Racist Organizations

TAMPA, FL — After a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, sparked racial violence over the weekend, including a counter-protester's death, the Southern Poverty Law Center is shining a light on hate groups that are active across the country.

A total of 917 organizations across the United States meet the SPLC’s criteria for being designated as hate groups. These groups include the Ku Klux Klan, skinhead organizations, black separatists and others. Many call Florida home.

The SLPC website has an interactive map showing the location of hate groups state by state. Within the Sunshine State, the SLPC says there are 63 active hate groups. Here's where those groups are active in Florida:
