Free McDonald’s For First Responders

Tampa Bay McDonald's are offering free Extra Value Meals on First Responders Appreciation Day.

TAMPA, FL — McDonald’s locations across the Tampa Bay region are rolling out the red carpet in honor of First Responders Appreciation Day. Licensed first responders who stop by any of the region’s 207 McDonald’s locations Wednesday will receive an Extra Value Meal on the house.

“We are so thankful to our local first responders who kept us safe before and during Hurricane Irma, and who are aiding the communities during the recovery process,” Javier Illas, a Tampa Bay area McDonald’s owner, said in a statement announcing the offer. “We hope our first responders enjoy a meal on us.” The offer, Illas said, “is a way we are saying ‘thank you’ for their service each and every day.” (For more local news from Florida, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts and newsletters from Tampa Patch. To take advantage of the Sept. 27 offer, first responders must show a valid badge or ID. The offer is only good in-store and is limited to one meal per customer, per visit. Police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics can cash in on the deal.
