GET OUT: Weekend Events Preview May 24-26
With a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants in the area, there's no reason to spend the weekend at home. We've put together a list of fun things to do in the South Tampa-Hyde Park area.

Margarita Festival
The inaugural Tampa Bay Margarita Festival is headed to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. In addition to top shelf margaritas, attendees can expect a fireworks show, beach volleyball and the sounds of four local bands. Admission is $15. Margaritas range in price from $6 to $8.

Military Families Day
In honor of Memorial Day, the Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd. Tampa, will host Military Families Day Sunday, May 16 from noon to 5 p.m. for all veterans and active-duty military personnel and their families. Families will enjoy self-guided tours of the museum, refreshments on the veranda and, at 2 p.m., the museum's Upstairs/Downstairs at the Tampa Bay Hotel Live Theatre Series will feature Theodore Roosevelt reliving his experienced as a Rough Rider.

GaYBOR Days
The GaYBOR District Coalition is hosting its annual GaYBor Days celebration in Ybor City Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 24-26. The event will feature shows, music and specials at a number of Ybor City nightclubs and restaurants.
Food Truck Rally
There will be a SOHO food truck rally Saturday, May 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at MacDinton's Irish Pub, 405 S. Howard Ave., Tampa.
Harbour Island Art Fest
The Harbour Island Art Walk will take place Sunday, May 19 from noon to 5 p.m. between That's Amore and Cafe DuFrain. The event will feature artists displaying paintings, metal work, jewelry, photographs, art glass, pottery, woodwork along with a kid's art activity area and music.
Outdoor Movie Night
Tate's Pizzeria & Sports Bar, 927 S. Howard Ave., Tampa, hosts an outdoor movie night each Thursday and Friday night on its 12-foot movie screen.
Saturday Storytime
Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 213 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, hosts a weekly story hour for kids Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Downtown Sunday Market
The Tampa Downtown Sunday Market is held each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 600 and 700 blocks of Franklin Street. More than 50 vendors sell produce, art, specialty food and crafts.
Cycling and Social
The Tampa Bay Running Club hosts a cycle and social each Sunday at 4 p.m. starting from Marjorie Park Marina, 97 Columbia Dr., Tampa.
