With Good Friday and Easter fast approaching, some school kids in the Tampa Bay area are gearing up for a three-day weekend. That’s not the case everywhere though as some school districts do plan to ring their bells on Friday, April 14.
Here’s a rundown by district on Good Friday openings and closings in the Tampa Bay area and surrounding counties:

Public school kids in Hillsborough County have Good Friday, April 14 off. That’s the last day they’ll get off until the final bell rings on the 2016-17 school year on May 26.

Kids in Polk County get to enjoy a three-day Easter weekend with all campuses set to close on April 14. Students here get another day off on Memorial Day, May 29, with the last day of school set for Friday, June 2.
Public schools throughout Pasco County will be open on Friday, April 14. Students here have no more days off until the last bell rings on May 26, according to the district’s calendar.
Students in Pinellas County get a three-day weekend with all schools closed on April 14. That’s their last day off until summer begins. The last day of the year is set for Thursday, May 25.
Children in Sarasota County can turn their alarms off on Friday, April 14. Kids here also get Memorial Day Monday, May 29 off. The last day of school is set for June 6, a Tuesday.
All Manatee County public schools are closed on April 14. Kids get another day off on Memorial Day Monday, May 29. The last day for kids – an early release day – is May 31.
