  1. The Tampa EDITION, the first 5-star hotel to come to the area, is now on the Best New Hotels in the World in 2023 by Travel + Leisure on its list of The 100 Best New Hotels in the World. (Tampa Patch)
  2. Blush Champagne & Cocktail Bar is opening soon in Wesley Chapel at the KRATE at the Grove. Blush is a modern take on a wine bar with assorted food and drinks for guests to enjoy including cheese boards, pasta, wine cocktails, and more. It is expected to open sometime this month.   3. Ny’Kole Krivda has been named the new president and CEO of The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce. Krivda holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science from Nova Southeastern University. She assumed the position on April 5. (Osprey Observer)
  4. A former neo-Nazi accused of killing his roommates has pled guilty to the charges after six years. Jury selection was set to begin before the defendant pled guilty. The defendant was then sentenced to 45 years in prison with a minimum of 25 years for each murder count. (WFLA)
  5. There is a new Trader Joe's location coming to Sarasota, according to their official website. It will open at Lakewood Ranch at 8473 Cooper Creek Blvd. in University Park. Trader Joe's still only has a few locations in Florida. No opening date is available as of Monday evening. (WFLA)

  • The Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court Office in Lakeland is temporarily closed amid staffing shortages. There is only one customer service clerk left in the office. (ABC Action News)
  • Ryan Bass shared: "The Rays are 6-1 in May, and 12-5 this season against teams .500 or better after shutting out the second-place Orioles, 3-0." (Twitter)
