Guardian Ad Litem Advocates Needed for 2,800 Children In Hillsborough
Volunteers serve as advocates for children in foster care in the court system.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — This Easter, the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office in Hillsborough County is hoping to deliver a message of hope to abused and neglected children by providing them with a guardian ad litem advocate.
Each child in foster care who is appointed to the office is assigned a guardian ad litem attorney, a child welfare professional and a trained volunteer from the child’s community. This approach allows the program to support the whole child, addressing his or her physical, educational, mental, emotional, social and legal needs.
There are currently about 2,800 children in foster care in Hillsborough County, and guardian ad litem volunteers are desperately needed to perform this vital work.
