Heat, Humidity Return For Tampa Bay’s Workweek
Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area in the weather department as the workweek continues.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents and visitors will want to break out their short-sleeve shirts for the week ahead. The National Weather Service is predicting a string of sunny days with highs that could climb to near 90 degrees.
Monday is expected to kick things off with mostly sunny skies and a high in the mid-80s. Partly cloudy conditions with a low in the mid-60s are expected overnight.
Tuesday is anticipated to deliver similar, but slightly warmer conditions in the day and overnight hours.

Forecasters say Wednesday through Friday will be near repeats of each other with mostly sunny to sunny skies and highs in the mid- to upper 80s. Overnight lows all three days are expected to drop into the upper 60s.

The weather service isn’t anticipating storms or even significant chances for rain in the week ahead. The Weather Channel’s forecasters, however, say there’s a slight 10 percent chance for drops to fall daily Tuesday through Friday. Forecasters there also anticipate the high to hit about 90 degrees on Saturday.
Significant rain chances aren’t expected in the Tampa Bay area until Sunday at least. The Weather Channel has forecast an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms in the nighttime hours with slightly cooler conditions to return again Monday, April 24. Weather service forecasters anticipate about a 30 percent chance of storms on Sunday night.

While storms and hazardous weather conditions aren’t anticipated in the week ahead, Florida remains under a wildfire-related state of emergency. Burn bans are in effect in multiple counties, including Pasco and Polk. As of Monday, April 17, there were 111 wildfires under Florida Forest Service watch and six on federal lands within the state.
