Heroes Story: Men Rescue 2 Children, Woman From Burning Home In Tampa
The men were driving in the area when they saw two children's hands hanging out a front window with burglar bars on it.

TAMPA, FL - Two men jumped out of a vehicle, ran to a burning home on Carnegie Circle then knocked burglar bars off a window and pulled two children to safety Sunday morning. After removing the children, the men pulled open the front door of the home and rescued a woman. The men were driving down 78th Street and saw a light column of smoke, and turned down Carnegie Circle to investigate. When they arrived in front of the home, they saw two children's hands hanging out a front window with burglar bars on it, according to firefighters.
Hillsborough County fire rescue received a call about 11:20 a.m. Sunday of a reported residential structure fire. When firefighters first arrived, they reported a single-family home with heavy fire coming from the front. The firefighters located the children and the woman at a neighbor's home. The woman had severe burns and was listed as a trauma alert, and the two children were taken from the scene with minor smoke inhalation. All were taken to Tampa General Hospital from the scene, firefighters said.
The two passing motorists refused medical attention at the scene, and drove themselves to the emergency room reporting minor injuries. The American Red Cross has been called to the scene to assist the family with housing, and clothing.
