Tampa Police Search For Man Who Broke Into A House, Shot Resident, Left

A man who broke inside a person's Tampa home early Friday morning and shot a person living there remains at large.

TAMPA, FL — Police are searching for a man who went inside a Tampa home early Friday morning and shot the homeowner, according to WTVT.

The shooting occurred in the8400 block of North 40th Street. The exact time the incident happened has not been released by Tampa police.

The burglar shot the victim in their stomach and hand.

Police said the shooter is a man who wore a mask and had a handgun at the time of the burglary. That's the only description police gave. The shooter remains at large.

Medical officials transported the victim to a local hospital. Their condition has not been released.
