Arrest Made In Stabbing Death Of Man On North Nebraska Avenue
Detectives said the victim got into a fight with 34-year-old Matthew Edwards that escalated with Edwards stabbing the victim.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police have arrested a man in connection with a homicide Tuesday evening in the 1500 block of North Nebraska Avenue.
Officers responded to a report of an assault at 8:48 p.m. and arrived to find a man in his mid-30s with upper body trauma. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
Detectives said the victim got into a fight with 34-year-old Matthew Edwards that escalated with Edwards stabbing the victim and fleeing the scene in a black sports utility vehicle. Through evidence and several witness statements, detectives were able to positively identify Edwards as the attacker.

At around 12:30 am, Tampa police found the SUV at 3016 N Central Ave. and arrested Edwards. He was taken to the Orient Road Jail where he has been charged with murder.
