Guavaween Around the Corner: Here’s one to put on your calendar. The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce is playing host to the 28th Guavaween celebrationOct. 26. The scaled-back version of the event includes a costume contest and other festivities, but runs again this year without the infamous night parade. Howl-O-Scream Starts This Weekend: Busch Gardens Tampa will be overgrown with dark, sinister, adult-targeted fun when Howl-O-Scream begins this weekend. The theme this year is “The 13” Evils, and Patch will get a special “Scream Cam” sneak peak Thursday, Sept. 26. Opening weekend is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28. Then, Howl-O-Scream runs Thursday through Saturday nights, Oct. 3-5, 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26. Operating hours are 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. You can buy tickets on the Busch Gardens Tampa Howl-O-Scream website and check out last year’s Scream Cam experience on Temple Terrace Patch.
