1. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about the death of a woman who had been missing from Tampa since March 19. 27-year-old Teneisha Griffith was discovered at around 1:30 p.m. at Lacoochee Claysink Road and State Road 575 in northeast Pasco. (Tampa Patch)

2. The Hillsborough County Commission voted in favor of a 1% transportation surtax ordinance that will be drafted by the county attorney’s office and potentially land on the November ballot. The vote comes after the Florida Supreme Court struck down a Hillsborough County transportation sales tax that passed with 57% of the vote back in 2018. (WUSF)

3. The Tampa Bay Lightning enjoyed a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Sunday. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 saves and Victor Hedman and Alex Killorn scored second-period goals to lead the team to victory. Tampa Bay will host the Carolina Hurricanes today at 4 p.m. (Bay News 9)

4. Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has welcomed a new board member, Stacie Mason, who will help it accomplish its goal of safe, affordable housing for everyone. Mason spent seven years with a Chicago area non-profit assisting adults with disabilities before transitioning to Human Resources. For the past 18 years Mason has served the city of Sarasota in the Human Resources Department. (Tampa Bay Newswire)

5. The annual Incredible Duck Race will take place Saturday, April 9 at noon at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first duck crossing the finish line will earn its sponsor $5,000, the second $1,000, and the third $500. (Tampa Patch)
