Land Rover, Lamborghini Stolen When Keys Swiped From Valet Stands
Tampa police say there's been a trend of luxury auto thefts in which thieves steal keys from unattended valet stands in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police detectives are searching for a group of auto thieves responsible for an increase in luxury vehicles being stolen after being parked by valets.
Tampa police said the thieves have been spotted on surveillance cameras targeting unattended valet stands at restaurants and hotels, swiping car keys from the stands , and stealing vehicles from valet parking lots.
Five such thefts have taken place in Tampa including a Land Rover, a Lamborghini and a Mercedes-Benz.

Tampa Police have been informing local businesses about this theft trend to increase awareness and encourage valet stands to never be left unattended.
Customers using valet parking should ask the valet service if the keys are stored in a secure area and if there is an additional attendant assigned to the stand to keep watch while a valet is retrieving a vehicle.
