Lost Hiker Rescued At Little Manatee State Park: Watch
A lost hiker was rescued from Little Manatee State Park on Sunday with help from the Aviation Section, the Hillsborough County sheriff said.

WIMAUMA, FL — A lost hiker was rescued from Little Manatee State Park on Sunday afternoon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch a video from her rescue below.)
HCSO’s 911 Dispatch Center received a call from the hiker around 1 p.m.
The agency’s Aviation Section located the hiker and picked up a rescue specialist in a nearby field.

The rescue specialist was let down by hoist to the hiker, the sheriff’s office said.
The hiker was escorted to safety, where patrol units and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue stood by. While she had minor abrasions and was dehydrated, she was uninjured.

"The rescue today is what we train for. Our sections worked seamlessly together to locate and get this hiker to safety quickly in what otherwise could have been a very dire situation," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "We're grateful for a successful outcome."
