1. Cybersecurity firm, Rapid7, has signed a lease for a new office at Sparkman Wharf that will span more than 42,000 square feet and two floors in Tampa's Water Street Tampa district. Rapid7 plans to hire more than 100 employees in data and software engineering, business development, customer support, IT and people strategy for its new office. (Tampa Patch)

2. Tampa's Julie Sainte Michelle Feliciano is opening Lucky Tigré, a Filipino counter which will offer uncommon Asian snacks, dumplings, small plates, drinks and more. Feliciano has run a pop-up called Good Fortune Baby, which is winding down operations on June 25. (Creative Loafing Tampa)

3. Conservative Grounds co-owner Cliff Gephart in Largo was one of the tens of thousands of Donald Trump supporters who flew to Washington on January 6, 2021 when the Insurrection on Capitol Hill occurred. Gephart says he won't be watching the congressional hearings on the matter. More than 800 people are now in prison after the riot, including over 90 from Florida. (Bay News 9)

4. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested 37-year-old David Daniels of Brandon, on two counts of false imprisonment of a child and child abuse. The trouble reportedly started at Cherry's Bar and Grill in FishHawk's park square, where a woman says she witnessed the kidnapping in action. (Fox 13)

5. The Straz Center for the Performing Arts has awarded local high school students Janiyah McAllister and Josh Devine the prize of performing on Broadway in New York City and representing the Straz in the 2022 National High School Musical Theatre Awards, known as The Jimmys, on Monday, June 27. The pair will work with professionals and be considered for recognitions, including a $10,000 college scholarship. (Tampa Bay Newswire)

  • A surge in housing costs in the Tampa Bay region has led to a 4% increase in the number of homeless people in Hillsborough County, according to new data from the Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative. (Business Observer)
  • Two young people were reportedly arrested for felonies related to the damage and vandalism of a fountain in Safety Harbor. The City of Safety Harbor says it will soon be hiring a contractor to restore the fountain soon. (WTSP)
  • Bruce Arians said recently he would likely not have stepped aside if Tom Brady had not come back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former head coach turns 70 years old in October and said it was time to hang it up. (CBS Sports)
