Man Fatally Shot Inside Car In Hillsborough County, Suspect At Large
Authorities said the shooting happened Friday at Progress Boulevard and South 82nd Street in Tampa.

TAMPA, FL — Authorities are searching for a person they say opened fire on a car in Hillsborough County, fatally shooting its passenger and causing a cyclist to be injured as the driver tried to flee.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened shortly before 4:20 p.m. at Progress Boulevard and South 82nd Street in Tampa.
According to authorities, the vehicle had stopped to talk to the suspect when they opened fire, striking a man in the passenger seat. A female driver and a child were also in the car at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

The car fled the scene to get away from the shooter and struck a motorized bicyclist, who suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The male in the passenger seat suffered gunshot wounds to the upper body and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"This is a tragic loss of life in our community that never should have occurred," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. "We're committed to finding who did this and making sure justice is served. If you have any information, please come forward."
