Man Killed In U.S. 41 Crash: FL Highway Patrol

GIBSONTON, FL — A 61-year-old Gibsonton man was killed in a Saturday afternoon crash on U.S. 41., according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

He was driving east on Shirley Avenue around noon when he drove his car into the path of an SUV heading south on U.S. 41.

The SUV, driven by a 57-year-old Tampa man, hit the car, FHP said.

The car’s driver was brought to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The SUV’s driver and his three passengers suffered minor injuries. All four were treated at area hospitals.
