Man Who Attempted To Rob Wells Fargo Bank Sought

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank at 6298 W Waters Ave., Tampa.

On Wednesday at 2:17 p.m., a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank, approached one of the tellers and passed a note claiming he had a gun and demanding money.

When the teller refused to comply, he fled.

"Attempting to rob a bank is not just a crime, it's a breach of the trust that holds our community together,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We, as law enforcement, are entrusted with the duty to protect and serve, and we take that responsibility seriously. This criminal will be brought to justice and face the consequences of their actions.”
