McDonald’s Invites Public To Share ‘Dessert with a Cop’

Tampa Police Department officers are also invited to the three restaurants to have a free sundae.

TAMPA, FL – July is National Ice Cream Month, and many retailers are finding ways to celebrate the sweet treat. In Tampa, McDonald’s is celebrating by inviting the public to have Dessert with a Cop.

Three McDonald’s locations in Tampa will host Dessert with a Cop on Tuesday, July 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. During the event, Tampa Police Officers will receive a free Premium Sundae while guests will receive a McDonald’s coupon for a free dessert during a future visit.

McDonald’s of Tampa Bay is hosting the event to show its appreciation to law enforcement by inviting them to get out of the summer heat and enjoy a free treat.

The format will be the same as McDonald’s Coffee with a Cop event. The events are meant to break down barriers between police officers and the members of the community they serve. Rather than having a set agenda or speeches, Dessert with a Cop allows the public a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know law enforcement in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Taking time to meet at a neutral, safe location, like McDonald’s restaurants, provide the opportunity for real conversations about the issues that matter the most to residents,” the franchise said in a press release.
