Missing Endangered Woman Last Seen Taking Bus To Tampa: Police

TAMPA, FL — Florida police are looking for a missing endangered woman who was last seen this month taking a bus from Fort Myers to Tampa.

On Tuesday, July 14, Erica Ann Johnson, 36, was reported missing by her family, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. They fear for her well-being.

However, tracking Johnson's whereabouts has been challenging for investigators. Cape Coral police told Fort Myers News-Press that she doesn't have a bank account or vehicle. She also doesn't use a cell phone frequently and has little to no social media presence.

Police said LeeTran surveillance video shows Johnson at the Cape Coral bus station located at SE 47th Terrace on July 5 around 5:37 p.m. and again at 5:21 a.m. on July 8 leaving with a suitcase.

On Thursday, police said Johnson boarded a Greyhound bus in Fort Myers on the morning of July 8th, which departed for Tampa.

She was carrying bags, a travel pillow, and her bunny. According to Greyhound, the bus trip was nonstop to Tampa.

Cape Coral police told WINK-TV that the first sign that something was possibly wrong occurred when Johnson’s ex-husband said she recently missed an appointment to see their kids.

Johnson is described as a white woman who weighs about 130 pounds. She has brown hair with blond highlights and green eyes. She is also approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, police said.
