Missing Miami Dog Found 6 Months Later Across FL In Tampa: Rescue

TAMPA, FL — A dog missing that's been missing in Miami since December was rescued six months later in Tampa and reunited with his family, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay wrote in a Facebook post.

Ace showed up at the Humane Society as a stray about a week ago, the organization said. “He was a very polite boy and thankfully, had a microchip.”

When his owners were contacted, the nonprofit learned that Ace escaped from their South Florida yard in December.

“They never stopped looking but were starting to lose hope as it got closer to May,” the Humane Society said.

The owners were “overjoyed” to hear from the Tampa-based organization and made the trip across the state to reclaim Ace.

The family’s father and son had an “emotional reunion” with the pup, who was “so thankful to see him again,” the Humane Society said.
