Mom, 2 Young Children Hit By Car Crossing Dale Mabry Highway

The mother and 18-month-old child suffered serious injuries.​

TAMPA, FL - A mother and her two young children were injured Wednesday when they were hit by a car while crossing South Dale Mabry Highway in South Tampa, police said.

The mother was identified as Cassandra Marie Spicola, 29 ; the children Jordan Williams, 5, and Noah Spicola, 18 months old. The mother and her children were attempting to cross South Dale Mabry at Wyoming Street about 5:52 p.m. when they were hit by a southbound Toyota Camry. They were not walking in a crosswalk when the accident occurred, police said. All three pedestrians were transported with injuries. The mother and younger child suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Thang Phu, 35, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It does not appear that speed or impairment were factors, police said. He has not been charged.
