Motorcycle, Bus Crash Sends 2 to Hospital

The accident happened at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

Two people were taken to Tampa General Hospital after their motorcycle collided with a bus at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Cleveland Street.

According to Tampa Fire Rescue, crews responded to the scene at about 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 26. The two were transported to TGH after a trauma alert was called.

There were no other injuries reported from the occupants on the bus, according to fire rescue officials.

Cleveland Street remained closed as of 7: 10 p.m. as Tampa Police Department officials investigate the scene.

Update, 4:20 p.m. Jan. 27: The men have been identified as Kyle John Viticonte, 23, and Matthew Heilman, 24. Viticonte, the driver, remains is serious but stable condition. Heilman died early Sunday morning, according to the Tampa Police Department.
