National Discount Retailer Opening Relocated Store In Reimagined FL Mall

TAMPA, FL — Burlington, a national off-price retailer, will open a new store this spring at 2160 E. Fowler Ave.

This is a relocation of the store that closed at 2244 University Mall, according to a news release.

Burlington’s relocation is part of the reimagining and redevelopment of University Mal into a mixed-use village. It’s part of the project’s RITHM campus, which includes a Sprouts Farmers Market that has been open for one-and-a-half years and a health and wellness center that hasn’t been announced yet, WFTS reported.

RITHM stands for Research, Innovation, Technology, Habitat and Medicine, according to Florida Trend.

The project also includes an off-campus housing development, Hub Tampa. Future plans include additional housing units, reports said.

The site is also zoned for hotels, conference centers, research labs, medical facilities, tech centers, movie theaters and more.

The relocated Burlington is in a standalone building next to Sprouts, reports said.

This store is the company’s 121st in Florida. The brand had more than 1,100 stores in 46 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico by the end of last year.

The Tampa location features Burlington’s reimagined store layout and new store logo, “Deals. Brands. WOW!”

The refreshed layout is designed to make it easier for customers to navigate the store, the news release said.

Burlington offers a range of items — apparel and accessories, beauty items, footwear, home decor, pet care, and toys — at up to 60 percent off other retailers’ prices, including on brand-name merchandise.
