TAMPA BAY, FL — The National Weather Service in Tampa has issued a special weather statement warning residents of a strong thunderstorm that will impact portions of south-central Pasco and northeastern Hillsborough County.

Radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over the University of South Florida and Temple Terrace. The storm was nearly stationary.

Winds are in excess of 40 mph and half-inch hail is possible.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
