National Weather Service Says Strong Thunderstorm Spotted

TAMPA BAY, FL — The National Weather Service in Tampa has issued a special weather statement warning residents of a strong thunderstorm that will impact portions of south-central Pasco and northeastern Hillsborough County.

Radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over the University of South Florida and Temple Terrace. The storm was nearly stationary.

Winds are in excess of 40 mph and half-inch hail is possible.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Tampa, Temple Terrace, Lutz, Greater Northdale, Tampa International Airport, East Lake-Orient Park, Egypt Lake-Leto, Pebble Creek, Greater Carrollwood, Lake Magdalene, University, Citrus Park, Wesley Chapel South, Keystone, West Park, Busch Gardens, Mango, New Tampa, Tampa Executive Airport and Lettuce Lake Park.
