Palm River Pizza, Ulele Cited By Health Inspectors

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Flies in kitchen, pet dog in dining area and a missing ceiling tile are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently in Tampa restaurants.

• Palm River Pizza, 6202 Palm River Road, Tampa, was cited for 15 violations on April 19, including wall stained and soiled in various locations; employee with long fingernails working with exposed food; and single-use gloves not changed as needed after changing tasks or when damaged or soiled (operator touched his nose, then went back to handling food utensil).
• Glory Days Grill, 14457B N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, was cited for 10 violations on April 19, including four live flies found in kitchen, two live flies in bar area and four live flies by dish area; grease accumulated under equipment in kitchen; and encrusted material on can opener blade.
• Ulele, 1810 N Highland Ave, Tampa, was cited for 12 violations on April 18, including pet dog permitted in outdoor dining area; ceiling tile missing in dish machine area; and oyster tags not maintained in chronological order according to last date they were served.

In the last 21 days, 133 Hillsborough County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 303 restaurants aced the first visit. For more details on Hillsborough County restaurant inspections, click here.

The inspectors made note of 10 Hillsborough County restaurants that passed inspections without any violations in the past week: Diggy Dogs LLC, 3224 W Tampa Bay Blvd, Tampa; Jazz Thai Restaurant, 4516 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa; Lili's Devil Crabs, 2806 S 63 St, Tampa; Bougie Foods LLC, 5224 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa; Aussie Grill By Outback, 2223 N Westshore Blvd, #Fc203, Tampa; Menchie's, 9654 W Linebaugh Ave, Tampa; Park Square Social, 16132 Churchview Dr Suite 101, Lithia; Ribticklers Barbecue, 107 Dunbar Ave. Suite G, Oldsmar; Bubbaque's #7007, 9990 S U.S. Hwy 301, Riverview; and Mami's Favorite Plates, 509 W Columbus Dr, Tampa.

Note: Most of the restaurants with violations have corrected those violations and passed subsequent inspections.
