TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating an early Wednesday morning crash that sent a pedestrian to the hospital.
According to the agency, Andrew J. Vanburan, 22, got off a HARTline bus around 6:47 a.m. Sept. 7 at Nebraska Avenue near East Skagway. Vanburan, police say, attempted to cross the street behind the bus, but failed to look for approaching traffic.
“Mr. Vanburan walked into the front right corner of a Ford Econoline 250 van and was struck by the side mirror,” police wrote in an email to media. Vanburan suffered a cut to his head and fell to the ground near the rear tire of the bus, police said.
