- Pinellas County plastic surgeon Dr. Tomasz Roman Kosowski has been arrested by authorities and charged with first-degree murder in the case of missing lawyer Steven Cozzi. Authorities have yet to locate the body of Cozzi, who has been missing since Tuesday. An investigation is still underway into the incident. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Detective Bolton at the Largo Police Department at 727-587-6730. (Subscription: Tampa Bay Times, Free: WFLA)
- Hole In One Donuts owner, Rom Kim, passed away on March 24. "It is with great sadness that we announce that our owner, Rom, has passed away due to a heart attack. He was a beloved friend, brother, husband, father and an amazing grandfather," wrote Rickey Kim on a GoFundMe page for the business. A GoFundMe was created to help with funeral costs and family expenses. It is unclear if the business will re-open. (That's So Tampa)
- Thunderstorms on Sunday caused six cancellations and 195 delays at Tampa International Airport, according to Flight Aware. Storms in Georgia are being blamed for the interruption. The delays and cancellations come amid heavy spring brea travel at the airport. (WTSP)
- Florida is preparing to re-evaluate its Medicaid policies and remove people who no longer qualify. 1 million people could lose their Medicaid coverage throughout the state in the process. Pandemic protections will expire on March 31 that prevented the state from dumping people off Medicaid sooner. Tampa Family Health Centers is working to help those locally impacted. (ABC Action News)
- Tampa General Hospital and Moffitt Cancer Center are bringing proton therapy to patients locally to help reduce the impact of traditional radiation. The therapy could be especially helpful to children who are sensitive to radiation therapy. It is still quite expensive and difficult to find so accessbility is not quite there yet. (WUSF)
