Tampa police are investigating a crash that closed Twiggs Street in downtown Tampa this morning. The incident occurred just before 8 a.m., and police are examining closed-circuit cameras and video from local businesses to figure out who was at fault. Here's what police say happened this morning: Peter Mitchell, 50, of 5246 Strike the Gold Lane in Wesley Chapel, was headed southbound on Ashley Drive on his motorcycle. A 1987 Toyota pickup truck driven by Kenneth moore, 54, of 3202 South Tacon Street Apt. B in Tampa, was traveling northbound on Ashley Drive and headed into the intersection of Twiggs Street East. Mitchell was thrown from the motorcycle and taken to Tampa General Hospital. Moore was issued a ticket for an expired driver's license. Check Patch for updates.
