Small metal shavings may be present within the product, according to a recall announcement Sept. 8.The product was sold in Publix bakery departments in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and the following counties in Florida: Alachua, Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, DeSoto, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota.The product has a UPC of 002-19562-00000 and includes all date codes. There have been no reported cases of illness or injury, according to Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director."As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from store shelves," Brous said in a statement. Consumers who have purchased the coffee cakes can return the product to their local store for a full refund. <hr />Patch file photo
