Residents Win: City Says No to Proposed Apartments

South Tampa neighborhood groups packed the Tampa City Council meeting last night, June 20.

South Tampa neighborhood groups packed the Tampa City Council meeting last night, June 20. They were there to make sure Council members knew they were against a proposed 212 unit apartment complex to be built on South Howard Avenue near West Morrison Avenue.

City Council agreed. They voted unanimously against the proposed "SoHo Flats" project, according to an article on BayNews9.com.

Del Acosta is a Hyde Park resident that attended the meeting.

"It's a very complex project, too dense, not good for neighborhood, generic project," resident Del Costa told Fox 13.

Were you at the meeting? What would you like to see done at that location? Discuss it with your South Tampa neighbors in the comments.
