1. The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County has issued a public health advisory for Davis Islands Beach due to high bacteria levels. Swimming is not recommended, according to the officials. The water will be re-evaluated on Thursday. (Tampa Patch)
2. Hillsborough County civics teacher Tony Pirotta of Sumner High School has been selected for an American Civic Education Teacher Award and he's one of only three in the entire country. Pirotta is a University of South Florida graduate. Since 2007, he's led the "Ought To Be A Law" program, which helps students craft and introduce new legislation. (Fox 13)
3. The Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Foundation has announced a scholarship that will help support 10 nurses for HCC's new bachelor of science in nursing program. The 10 nursing students will receive $1,000 each to help with tuition, books and other expenses. (Tampa Patch)
4. The Moms for Liberty summit in Tampa presented Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with what it calls its "first-ever Liberty Sword award." Governor DeSantis discussed trans children and "woke" corporations, including Disney, during his speech. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
5. A new story in WSJ says Tampa's price increases "have eroded some of a competitive advantage that helped recruit managers from elsewhere in the U.S." and have led to higher salary expectations and some people returning to where they moved from. Tampa experienced the fastest home-price growth in the U.S. in the year that ended in April at 35.8%, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices. (Subscription: Wall Street Journal)
