Salty Sol Boat Ramp Is Expanding
Additional truck and trailer spaces are being added to the existing parking lot.

Weekend boaters using the county-owned Salty Sol Boat Ramp should face shorter delays taking their boats in and out of the water this summer.
Thirty-one truck and trailer spaces are being added to the the east end of the Salty Sol Boat Ramp parking lot, at 5108 W Gandy Blvd.
Hillsborough County also plans to repave the entire lot and make improvements to drainage around the boat wash area. The entire project will cost $400,000 and is being funded with boater registration fees.

The additional parking spaces and drainage improvements are being made in order to alleviate weekend congestion. The project is expected to be complete by the beginning of July, the height of boating season for locals.
Salty Sol offers two ramps and four lanes to launch. The ramp is open 24 hours a day.

What To Expect During Construction
- The boat ramp will remain accessible for use throughout the project.
- Traffic patterns into, out of, and through the parking lot may be redirected at times to accommodate construction.
- Some parking spaces may occasionally be restricted for safety.
Project Timeline
- Site clearing began in late March 2013.
- Re-paving and pavement marking is scheduled to begin after Memorial Day weekend.
- The project is expected to be complete around the beginning of July 2013.
Project Funding
The entire project, funded through the County’s Capital Improvement Program through boater registration funds, will be completed at a cost of approximately $400,000.
