Videos: 2-Alarm Port Sutton Fire Contained, But Not Out
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is battling a 'large scrap metal fire' in the port area.
TAMPA, FL — Motorists heading through the downtown and port areas of Tampa likely noticed a large billow of smoke in the sky Friday evening.
According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, that smoke was being caused by “a large scrap metal fire” that broke out at Trademark Metals Recycling. Officials were still responding to the scene just after 5 p.m. Dec. 2.
Trademark Metals Recycling buys ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals, according to the company's website. It has several locations throughout Florida. The company's 3310 Port Sutton Road facility is the one where the fire broke out, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
