Search Continues For Driver Who Struck Man On Motorscooter in Tampa

TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a high-speed hit-and-run crash that left a man on a motorscooter hospitalized.

The crash on Oct. 12 at 4:41 p.m. in the area of North 15th Street and East 26th Avenue sent a man in his mid-20s to the hospital where he is expected to recover.

The driver briefly got out of the vehicle, described as a possible gold Toyota Rav 4, and then got back in the vehicle and fled the scene.

The driver is described as a Black female, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 160 pounds, with long black braids, wearing a black T-shirt with white writing and blue jeans.

Investigators are continuing to gather additional evidence and actively developing leads in this case. Anyone who may have information is asked to call Tampa Police at 813-231-6130.
