1. Hillsborough County animal control officials are reminding residents to check the background of pet-sitters the same way they would check potential baby-sitters before booking them. The reminder comes after last week's arrest of a Tampa resident who ran a pet-sitting service, according to a news release from the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center. (Tampa Patch)
2. A Wisconsin man visiting family in Tarpon Springs was reported missing Friday evening. Raynor William Stehno, 21, was last seen at Pinellas Safe Harbor, which is a homeless shelter in Clearwater. (WFLA)
3. A senior airman from MacDill Air Force Base, 25-year-old Jarred Deon White, has been charged with second-degree murder after an argument inside a bar along South Howard Avenue led to a deadly shooting early Friday morning, police said. Authorities were called to the scene near MacDinton's. (Fox 13)
4. The Tampa Bay Rays said the latest lawsuit filed by a group of limited partners who accuse Stuart Sternberg of wrongfully taking control of the team is a continuation of a "meritless and relentless campaign" against the club and its principal owner. Similar lawsuits were filed by the limited partners in May 2021 and February 2022. (ABC Action News)
5. Tampa police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station at 5035 Fowler Avenue at gunpoint on Friday. According to a Tampa police news release, at 12:32 a.m., a man walked into the Chevron gas station, pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money. (Tampa Patch)
