Busch Gardens' littlest visitors will find some of their favorite characters on display as Sesame Street Kids' Weekends returns.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area families with tiny tots who love Elmo, Cookie Monster and the rest of the Sesame Street gang may want to put Busch Gardens on their to-do lists over the next few weekends. The Tampa-based theme park has announced the return of Sesame Street Safari of Fun Kids’ Weekends.

The special events meant for the park’s littlest visitors will be staged the weekends of May 6-7 and May 13-14 in the park’s Safari of Fun area. Each weekend has its own special theme with events planned between 2 to 5 p.m. on the two Saturdays and Sundays.

The events feature dance parties, interactive crafts and character parades at the top of each hour. The themes are as follows:

  • May 6-7 – Rubber Duckie Weekend. Participants will be asked to go on a scavenger hunt to find Ernie’s lost rubber duckies throughout the Sesame Street Safari of Fun area at the park. Guests who spot them all will receive a prize.
  • May 13-14 – Cookie Monster Weekend. Kids will get to enjoy Cookie Monster-approved treats thanks to TG Lee and Busch Gardens during the events this weekend.

Upgraded experiences are also offered at an extra price beyond admission. Kids, for example, can take part in special painting sessions during both weekends. Lunch with Elmo and Friends may also be purchased as an upgrade option during the weekend events.
