Shootout At Williams Park Leads To 2 Arrests
Tampa Police say two men are in custody following reports of gunfire at Williams Park.

TAMPA, FL — Two men are in custody after Tampa Police responded to reports of gunfire ringing out at Williams Park in the early morning hours Tuesday.
According to police, officers were called to the 4362 E. Osborne Ave. park around 1:20 a.m. June 6. They arrived in time to see two vehicles heading north on North 43rd Street with occupants inside both cars “shooting at each other,” an email from the agency said.

Officers activated their lights and sirens, but police say the drivers of both cars refused to stop. That sparked a pursuit, during which an occupant of one of the cars is accused of pointing a gun at police.
The pursuit continued until one of the drivers tried to drive over a median. That move, police say, caused the car to become disabled.

At that point, police say three people bailed out of the car and ran. Two occupants were taken into custody shortly thereafter in the area of the 4100 block of East Clifton Street with help from the air service and K9 units. The third person and the people in the other vehicle remain at large.
While no injuries have been reported, the two men brought into custody do face charges. They are:
Reshard Mills, 21, of Tampa
- Charges: discharging a firearm from a vehicle, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence.
Tyrell Leach, 18, address unknown
- Charges: fleeing to elude, burglary and resisting arrest with violence
Further information is not yet available. Police say the investigation remains very much active.
